This is Kirsty Cottage, right in Moffat town centre. It's an old end-terrace, built from stone, so the walls are thick and the rooms feel solid.
It sleeps four two bedrooms and one bathroom. The bathroom has a shower. It's rated 4 Star, so it's comfortable and well looked after. You get bedding and towels.
The kitchen has a dishwasher and a washing machine. There's a woodburning stove in the living room. We leave you some logs to get you started. The stairs are steep, typical for a place this old.
One well behaved dog is welcome.
You're a couple of minutes walk from the main street, so there are shops, a couple of pubs that do food, and restaurants. For a bigger town, Dumfries is about 25 minutes drive south.
If you're here for the outdoors, Moffat is right for it. You're on the edge of the Lowther Hills and not far from the big hills up towards Moffat Dale. The Tweed Valley forest trails, part of the 7stanes mountain biking, are about a 40 minute drive. The Forestry and Land Scotland site has maps.
Grey Mare's Tail waterfall is a National Trust for Scotland site about 15 minutes away. The NTS page has walking information.
If you want to go further, you can get to places like Edinburgh, Glasgow, or the Borders abbeys in around an hour and a half, depending on traffic.
