Cass Lodge is in Huby. It's a converted barn on our working farm. It's very quiet out here. No street lights, so on a clear night you can see the stars properly.
It sleeps five. Three bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. The stairs are narrow and steep, like in a lot of old barns. You need to be careful on them.
You look out over our fields. We keep a small flock of Boreray sheep. Sometimes there are piglets about too.
You can walk straight from the door. The area is good for cycling. We're near several Sustrans routes, like the Way of the Roses. For a bigger day out, the North York Moors are about half an hour's drive. The Yorkshire Dales and the coast are within an hour.
There's a lot of history nearby. Castle Howard, Byland Abbey, and Rievaulx Abbey are all within a 30 minute drive. For gardens, Newby Hall is about half an hour away.
The facilities: there's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's bike storage if you need it. Parking is right outside. There's a pub in the village. No pets, sorry.
