Cass Lodge

Cass Lodge is near Huby in North Yorkshire. It's a red brick barn conversion on our arable farm. The place is very quiet, no light pollution, so on a clear night you can see a lot of stars.

The cottage looks out onto fields. We keep a small flock of rare Boreray sheep out there. Sometimes we have piglets too.

It sleeps five in three bedrooms, with one bathroom. It has a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and clean. The garden is enclosed and there's parking right outside.

There's a washing machine, a dishwasher, and a cot and highchair if you need them. Bedding and towels are included. There's WiFi and a TV. You can store bicycles.

You can walk straight from the door. The local lanes are quiet and good for cycling. It's close to several Sustrans routes, like the Way of the Roses.

The North York Moors are about a 30 minute drive. So are the Yorkshire Dales and the coast, places like Scarborough. For good walks, the North York Moors National Park site is useful. There's also the Cleveland Way and the Yorkshire Wolds Way if you're after longer trails.

There are a lot of historic places nearby. Castle Howard and Fountains Abbey are within half an hour. Byland Abbey and Rievaulx Abbey are very close. For gardens, Newby Hall or RHS Harlow Carr are about a 30 minute drive.

No pets, I'm afraid.
