The Old Combine Shed is in Huby, in North Yorkshire. It’s a converted barn, detached, with its own enclosed garden out the back. It’s very quiet here, just fields and sky.
It sleeps seven. There are four bedrooms and three bathrooms. Two of the bedrooms are downstairs, and two are up. Two of the bathrooms are downstairs. It’s got a 4 Star rating, which means it’s a good, comfortable place. The kitchen has what you’d need, and the living room has a wood burner effect stove. The WiFi is fine for normal use.
The stairs are quite steep, which is normal for a barn conversion. The walls are thick and some of the original brickwork is exposed.
Huby village is a short walk away. There’s a pub, a restaurant, and a very good village shop. Easingwold is about three miles away. It’s a proper market town with cobbles, independent shops, and a few places to eat.
You’re on the edge of the Howardian Hills here. For days out, Castle Howard is fifteen minutes by car. The North York Moors are about half an hour east, and the coast at, say, Scarborough, is about forty-five minutes.
York is about half an hour’s drive. You’ve got the Minster, the walls, the Railway Museum, and all the rest of it.
Facilities: there’s parking for a couple of cars right outside. A dishwasher, washing machine, TV. We include the bedding and towels. There’s a travel cot and a highchair if you need them. No pets, sorry.
