The Snug Cottage is on Mill Lane in Stratford St Mary. It's a terraced cottage, so you've got neighbours on both sides. There's a small garden at the back that's yours to use.
It sleeps four in two bedrooms. One double and one twin. There's one bathroom with a shower cubicle. It's a 4 Star place, so it's well looked after and comfortable. The stairs are quite narrow and steep, like a lot of old cottages.
The front room has a wood burner. It's a small, cosy space. The kitchen has a dishwasher and a washing machine. All your bedding and towels are included. You can bring one well-behaved dog.
The village has a pub, The Crown, which is a few minutes' walk away. They do food. There are good walks straight from the door along the River Stour. Flatford Mill, which you'll know from Constable's paintings, is about a ten minute drive.
For bigger shops, Hadleigh and Sudbury are market towns about ten to fifteen minutes by car. Colchester is maybe twenty-five minutes if you need a cinema or the castle. If you fancy the coast, Mersea Island is about forty minutes drive. They have seafood places there.
