The Orchard Langham

This is The Orchard. It's a single storey cottage attached to our house, but it's very private. You can't see our windows from yours. It used to be part of the old village bakery, so you get the wooden beams still.

It sleeps two. One bedroom, one bathroom with a shower. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's all sorted and comfortable. Everything's on one level, so no stairs at all.

The main thing is the space outside. It's in our two and a half acre garden, mostly orchards and lawns. You have your own decked area with a table and chairs. It's south facing, so it gets the sun. There are beehives at the far end of the orchard, but they're a good distance away and they're quiet.

You've got parking right by the door. Inside, it's open plan. There's a washing machine, a dishwasher, WiFi, and a TV. Bedding and towels are included. One well-behaved dog is welcome.

Langham itself is quiet. There's a shop and a pub a mile down the road. The pub does food. You're about halfway between Colchester and Ipswich, right by the A12, so getting around is easy.

Flatford Mill and Dedham Vale, what they call Constable Country, is about a ten minute drive. It's nice for a walk. Colchester is fifteen minutes the other way. The castle is good, and the zoo is decent for a day out. The coast at places like Aldeburgh or Orford is about forty minutes.
