Guise Cottage is on our farm in Kirkton of Tough. It's a working farm with cattle and sheep, so you'll see them in the fields. The cottage is attached to our house, but you have your own entrance and a private garden area.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms and one bathroom. It’s got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well-equipped. The main bedroom is upstairs and has a double bed. The stairs are original, so they're a bit steeper than in a modern house.
The kitchen has a dining table. The living room is separate and has a wood burner. We provide the first bag of logs. There's also a sunroom at the back. It gets the morning sun and looks out over the fields.
You're about five miles from Alford. That's where the shops are, and there's a golf course. The Cairngorms National Park is less than half an hour's drive for walking or cycling. If you're interested in local history, the Grampian Transport Museum is in Alford.
The facilities are what you'd expect: TV, WiFi, washing machine, parking. Bedding and towels are included. No pets, I'm afraid, because of the farm.
