Dairy Cottage Whitehouse

Dairy Cottage is on our farm at Whitehouse, near Alford. It's a detached house, on its own. You get the garden to yourself. It's open plan inside, with a wood burner.

It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 3 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and clean, not luxurious. Everything is on the ground floor, which is handy.

You're on a working farm, so you'll see cattle. The garden is enclosed. There's parking right outside.

The cottage is in a really quiet spot. You can walk straight out from the front door onto farm tracks and into the hills. You're right on the edge of the Cairngorms National Park.

Alford village is about three miles away. It's got the basics: a shop, a couple of pubs that do food, a small swimming pool and sports centre. The Alford Valley Railway is there, which is nice with kids. There's a big country park for walks.

If you want to go further, Craigievar Castle is about three miles south of Alford. It's a proper pink castle, run by the National Trust. In the other direction, Bennachie is a good hill for a proper walk with great views. For a big day out, the Cairngorms are about a 30 minute drive. You can get to Balmoral or Braemar in under an hour.

Facilities wise: there's a washing machine, a dishwasher, TV, and bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs. We've got bike storage if you need it.
