Scardroy Alford is a bungalow just outside the village of Alford, about a mile away. It's detached, so you're on your own.
The main thing is the space. It sleeps twelve, which is why there are seven bedrooms. One has a four-poster bed and an en-suite bathroom with a corner spa bath. There are two other bathrooms. The rating is 3 Star, so it's comfortable and clean, not luxury.
The garden is large and fully enclosed. There's a separate area at the back with a hot tub and a barbecue house. That's all for you to use.
Alford itself is a small town. It's got the usual shops, a couple of places to eat, and a petrol station. The Grampian Transport Museum is here and is worth a visit if you're interested in that sort of thing.
For walking, Haughton Country Park is nearby and good for a stroll. The Bennachie hills are about a twenty-minute drive if you want something more serious. The 18-hole golf course is on the edge of town.
There are a few castles within a half-hour drive. Castle Fraser, which is National Trust for Scotland, is probably the most notable.
In terms of what's here, it's got a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking on the drive for several cars. One well-behaved dog is allowed.
If you're planning trips further out, Aberdeen is about 45 minutes by car. For general information on the area, National Trust for Scotland: Aberdeen & Deeside has good details.
