Barn Owl Cottage

Barn Owl Cottage is in Kirk Hammerton. It’s a single-storey place, so everything’s on one level. Sleeps four, two bedrooms. Both have a kingsize bed and their own en-suite shower room, which is handy.

It’s got a 4 Star rating. That means it’s comfortable and well-finished. The main room is open-plan, with the kitchen, dining and sitting area all together. There are some exposed beams. It has a Smart TV, WiFi, a washing machine and a dishwasher.

Outside there’s a patio with a table and chairs, and a gas BBQ. You can park right next to the cottage.

The village is quiet. There’s a train station here with services to York, Harrogate and Leeds. The nearest pub is about a mile away in Green Hammerton.

York is very close, about a 20-minute drive or you can get the train. You’ve got the Minster, the Railway Museum, the Shambles. Harrogate is about half an hour away for the Turkish Baths or Bettys. Knaresborough is lovely for a walk by the river.

For walking, the Yorkshire Dales National Park is within half an hour. So are the Howardian Hills, which is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Beningbrough Hall is a National Trust property nearby, and Castle Howard is about a 25-minute drive.

Facilities included: all bedding and towels, a cot and a highchair. No pets. There is another cottage next door that can be booked with this one for larger groups.
