Fell View is in Sedbergh. It's at the top end of the main street, on that little back lane behind the old bank. You park right outside. It's got one of those small, private back gardens that you don't expect down there, with a gate at the end that leads straight onto the fells.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms upstairs, one with a big king bed and the other with twins. One bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's nicely done. The stairs are a bit steep. That's just how the cottages are built up here.
The garden is a proper sun trap if the weather's good. It's got a bench and a table out there. Because it's up the lane a bit, you don't get any through traffic.
Everything you need is included - bedding, towels, washing machine, Wi-Fi. There's parking for two cars.
Sedbergh itself is a five minute walk downhill. There's a Spar for essentials, and a few cafes and bookshops. The pub is about a mile away. If you want golf or riding, that's local too.
The main thing, of course, is the walking. You come out the back gate and you can just head straight up into the Howgill Fells. The gradients are proper, so wear good boots. For a high level route, the ridge over to Cautley Spout is spectacular. For a longer drive, the Lake District is about half an hour. Kendal is roughly twenty five minutes if you need a bigger supermarket.
