The Old Stables is in Canisbay, right up near John o'Groats. It's one half of a converted building, but it's entirely separate. You have your own front door and a small balcony. The balcony looks straight out over the Pentland Firth towards the Orkney Islands. It's a very good view.
It's a one bedroom place for two people. One bathroom with a shower. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's well done, comfortable and clean. The kitchen is modern and has what you need.
The bed is a super king size. There's a washing machine and a dishwasher. Everything like bedding and towels is included. Parking is right outside.
Canisbay itself is quiet. You're a few minutes in the car from John o'Groats. The main thing here is the coast and the space. The walking is excellent. You can walk along the cliffs from the door. You'll see plenty of seabirds. You might see seals.
The Castle of Mey is about ten minutes drive away. It was the Queen Mother's place. John o'Groats has the signpost for the end-to-end route. Dunnet Head, which is the most northerly point on the British mainland, is about twenty minutes away.
If you're driving, Thurso is the nearest proper town for bigger shops. It's about half an hour.
We don't allow pets. For WiFi, it's provided but signal can be patchy because of the location. That's just how it is this far north.
If you're in a group, we have the other half of the building, The Servants Quarters, which sleeps two as well. You can book both together.
