Horsemans is a house on the main road into John o' Groats. It's detached, so no shared walls. You get the garden to yourself, it's mostly patio. The view is over fields to the back.
The house sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two doubles and a twin. One shower room downstairs. It's a 3 Star rating, so it's clean and comfortable but not a fancy show home. The living space is all open plan, kitchen, dining and sitting area together. It's good for families or a group.
You're on the edge of the village here. There's a local pub you can walk to. For a shop, you'd drive to the village centre, a couple of minutes away.
John o' Groats itself is the famous signpost at the end of the road. It's a landmark more than a town. You'll want a car to get around. The coastal walking is the main thing. The Walkhighlands site has good route information.
You can get boat trips from here over to Orkney. The Castle of Mey is about six miles west, the Queen Mother's old house. Castle of Mey.
If you want to explore further, Thurso is about twenty minutes south by car. It has supermarkets and more shops. Wick is about half an hour south, with an airport and the Wick Heritage Museum.
For the facilities: there's parking on the drive, a washing machine, WiFi, and a TV. Bedding and towels are included. We accept one well-behaved dog.
