The Old Barn is off the main road between Hope Bowdler and Church Stretton. It's a detached stone barn conversion. You're down a track, so it's quiet. The garden looks out over fields.
It sleeps five in three bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, which is useful. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well kept. The main living space is open-plan, kitchen and dining together, with a separate lounge that has a wood burner. There's a charge for logs beyond the first basket.
We take one dog. There's an outdoor hot shower for washing muddy dogs off. We can provide dog towels for a small fee if you forget yours.
The garden has a paved area with a table and chairs. There are two fishing ponds on the land. You can fish for carp and tench, but there's a separate charge for that, paid to us when you're here. You can walk around them or have a picnic, but they are deep and there's no fence, so you need to watch children.
For walking, you can get straight onto the footpaths from here. The Longmynd and Carding Mill Valley are just up the road. Church Stretton is about two miles for shops and a cafe.
If you're driving out, Ludlow is about half an hour away. It's good for food and has the castle. The National Trust looks after the Longmynd. The Ironbridge Gorge museums are about 40 minutes drive. Shrewsbury is roughly the same.
Facilities are what you'd expect: wifi, TV, washing machine, parking. Bedding and towels are included.
