Lincumtoy is a cottage here in Pinwherry, just off the main road. It's the end house in a little terrace. It sleeps two, one bedroom upstairs. There's a bathroom with a shower. The rating's 4 Star, so it's comfortable and in good order.
The living room has a wood burner. The kitchen's small but you can cook in it. It has a washing machine. The garden's at the back, and there's a summerhouse and a seating area up the slope. It's enclosed.
You're right by the river Duisk. There are some fishing rods in the bike store if you want to use them. The river's just there.
The town of Girvan is about ten minutes' drive. It has shops and a leisure centre with a pool. You can get boat trips out to Ailsa Craig from there.
Culzean Castle is about twenty minutes away. It's a good day out, designed by Robert Adam. It's run by the National Trust for Scotland. There's also Dumfries House, which is a bit further.
The Galloway Forest Park is within half an hour. It's a big area for walking. It's also a Dark Sky Park if you're into that.
The coast at places like Ayr and Troon is about twenty to thirty minutes. You can get the train from Girvan or Ayr up to Glasgow if you want a city day.
It's a good spot for getting around. You can reach the islands like Arran for a day trip, or head down to the ferry at Cairnryan.
We take up to two dogs. There's parking right outside. Bedding and towels are included, and there's WiFi.
For more on the area, the National Trust for Scotland Galloway page is useful, as is the Forestry and Land Scotland site.
