Selsmore Cottages are on a private lane in South Hayling. It's quiet. You get number three, which is an end terrace. The garden is fully enclosed, which is good if you've got kids or a dog.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, one bathroom. There's a downstairs loo as well. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well looked after. The stairs are a typical cottage staircase, so they turn a corner and are a bit steep.
The kitchen has a big range cooker and there's a separate utility room with a washer and dryer. The living room gets the sun in the afternoon. The bathroom upstairs has a bath and a separate shower, but you have to go through the bunk bedroom to get to the shower. That's just the layout.
The beach is about half a mile away. The Hayling Billy trail is on the old railway line, good for a flat walk or cycle. The sailing here is very good, and they say windsurfing was invented on the island. There's a chippy that's won awards a short walk away in Mengham. The local shop is there too, about a fifteen minute walk.
Portsmouth is easy to get to for a day out. You've got the Historic Dockyard with HMS Victory, the Spinnaker Tower, and ferry crossings to the Isle of Wight. It's about a twenty minute drive, depending on the traffic.
For facilities, it's all there. WiFi, TV, woodburner, dishwasher, parking for two cars. Bedding and towels are included. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
