Salty Lodge

Salty Lodge is a bungalow on Hayling Island, on the south coast. It's detached and single-storey, so no stairs at all. It sleeps four in two bedrooms and has one bathroom with a shower.

The main thing is the location. You're right on the beach. The back garden has a decked area, then steps over a low wall onto the pebble and sand. When the tide's out, it's good for crabbing in the pools. You get a clear view of the sea across to the Isle of Wight, and the sunsets from the deck are good.

The place was refurbished a few years ago. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well-equipped. It's clean and modern inside.

There's a shop about 200 yards away, and a pub and restaurant a bit further. They're handy.

Hayling is known for sailing and windsurfing because it's sheltered by the Isle of Wight. You'll see a lot of that activity along the coast. You can walk the Hayling Billy Trail along the old railway line. For a longer walk, the South Downs are a short drive away.

If you want to explore, Chichester is about 20 minutes by car. It's got the cathedral, the theatre, and Roman history at Fishbourne. Portsmouth is about half an hour away for maritime history, the Spinnaker Tower, and ferry trips over to the Isle of Wight.

In terms of what's here, you've got the enclosed garden and deck, a BBQ, parking, WiFi, a TV, a washing machine, and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot if you need one. Sorry, no pets.
