It’s called Salty Lodge. It’s on South Hayling Island, right by the sea. A detached bungalow, so it’s all on one floor. You can see the Isle of Wight from the windows.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms and one bathroom. It was done up a few years back, so it's clean and modern. Got a 4 Star rating.
The back garden is decked. It faces west, so you get the sunsets over the water. At the bottom of the garden there’s a low wall with steps over it. That’s the beach. It’s sandy and pebbly. When the tide’s out, it’s good for crabbing in the pools.
There’s a shop about three minutes’ walk away. A pub and a restaurant are five minutes’ walk. They’re fine.
Hayling’s known for sailing and windsurfing. It’s sheltered here. You can see all that from the beach. For a walk, the Hayling Billy Trail is good. It follows the old railway line.
Chichester is about a twenty-minute drive. They’ve got the theatre, the cathedral, and Goodwood is nearby. Portsmouth’s maybe half an hour. That’s where the Historic Dockyard is, with HMS Victory and the Spinnaker Tower. The South Downs National Park starts not far from here, maybe a fifteen-minute drive to get into it.
What’s here: a washing machine, dishwasher, TV, WiFi. There’s a cot if you need it. Bedding and towels are included. Parking for one car on the drive. No pets, sorry.
