Steps From The Shore is on Hayling Island, in South Hayling. It's one of a small row of cottages. The name is accurate. You’re about fifty paces from the beach path.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's clean, bright, and feels pretty new inside.
The main thing is the view. The back living area opens directly onto a private patio that looks straight out over the sea. You can sit out there. It gets the sun.
Inside, it’s open plan downstairs. Kitchen, dining, sitting area all together. Good for a family. We’ve put in a cot and a highchair if you need them.
The beach is shingle. You can walk for miles along it. It's a known spot for windsurfing if that's your thing. For a proper sandy beach, you'd drive to the big one at West Wittering, which is about twenty minutes away.
On the island, there's a little amusement park called Funland. It's a typical seaside arcade with rides for small kids. The Hayling Island Railway is a miniature steam train that goes along the seafront. It’s a short trip, but kids seem to like it.
For a day out, Portsmouth is just over the bridge. You’ve got the historic dockyard with the Victory. Chichester is about half an hour’s drive. Nice city for a look around and some shopping.
Facilities: there’s a washing machine, WiFi, and parking right outside. Bedding is included. No pets, sorry.
