The Granary
The Granary is in Poulshot, which is a small village about halfway between Devizes and Melksham. It's detached, and we only finished the renovation last year. So everything inside is new. Walls, floors, kitchen, bathrooms. It's all clean and works properly.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms and two bathrooms. One of the bedrooms and a shower room are on the ground floor, which is handy. The stairs are fine, not particularly steep for a change.
The main room downstairs is open plan, with the kitchen, dining table, and seating area all together. There's a wood burner for cooler evenings and Sky TV on the main screen. The garden at the front isn't enclosed, but there's a table and chairs and a barbecue. It gets the sun in the evening. There's a big green across the drive, so it feels open.
You can bring two dogs. They need to be on a lead outside because of the garden situation.
The village pub is about five minutes walk. They do solid pub food. There's a good farm shop in the village too. For a bigger shop, Devizes is three miles. It's a proper market town with a decent high street and the canal. The famous Caen Hill locks are there.
For a day out, you're well placed. Avebury is about 20 minutes drive. It's a stone circle you can walk right up to, which I prefer. The National Trust looks after it. Lacock village is about half an hour away and it's very pretty, used for a lot of filming. Longleat Safari Park is roughly 40 minutes.
Bath and Salisbury are both under an hour's drive if you want cities. Stonehenge is about 40 minutes.
Everything you'd expect is here: wifi, washing machine, dishwasher, parking for two cars on the drive. All bedding and towels are included.
