Chestnut Lodge Chittoe Heath

Chestnut Lodge is one of four timber lodges on a smallholding near Chittoe Heath. It's in the middle of fields, with views across to the Round Way Hills. The lodge is detached and you get your own bit of garden, which is enclosed.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating. Everything's clean and it works, but it's not luxurious. The open plan layout is good if you've got kids or a dog with you.

There are twelve acres of private woods on the site you can walk in. You'll see chickens around the place. Sometimes you can collect eggs for your breakfast, which the kids usually like. There are horses in the fields next door.

You're about a ten to fifteen minute drive from towns like Devizes or Melksham for shops and supermarkets. For bigger days out, you're well placed. Avebury is about twenty minutes away. Stonehenge is maybe thirty minutes. Bath is roughly half an hour. Bowood House has a golf course and gardens, that's only ten minutes up the road.

In terms of what's here, it's got pretty much everything you'd need. There's a TV, WiFi, a shower, parking right outside. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. You can bring up to two dogs.
