The Cottage

The Cottage is a timber barn conversion. It's detached, next to our house but private. It's on the edge of Upper Stoke, about two miles from the nearest shops and a pub.

It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, three bathrooms. That's handy. One bedroom and a shower room are on the ground floor. The other two are upstairs. The stairs are normal stairs.

The place is a 5 Star property, which means it's well-equipped and finished to a high standard. It's got underfloor heating, a dishwasher, that sort of thing. The kitchen looks out over the garden and a pond. There are ducks.

The garden is enclosed, so it's safe for kids. There's a patio with a BBQ. You get a view across the fields towards Norwich. You can see the cathedral spire in the distance on a clear day.

Norwich is about four miles away. It's got everything: the castle museum, the cathedral, shops, restaurants, theatres. Dunston Golf Course is also nearby.

If you like walking or cycling, you can go straight from the door. There are plenty of footpaths and the Boudicca Way long-distance path runs through the area.

For the Norfolk Broads, Wroxham is about 13 miles north. You can hire boats there. The historic towns of Bungay and Beccles are a 20 minute drive south, right on the edge of the Broads.

The Suffolk coast is about 45 minutes to an hour by car. Southwold and Aldeburgh are the main ones there, with their piers and beach huts.

There are a lot of nature reserves and National Trust places within a reasonable drive. If you want to plan, these sites are useful: National Trust Norfolk and The Broads National Park.

Bedding and towels are included. There's parking on site. Sorry, no pets.
