Meadowsweet Cottage is in Swardeston, about five miles south of Norwich. It's a semi-detached cottage, part of a pair we have here. You get your own garden and patio. It looks out over a valley with no other houses in view. On a clear night, the stars are very good.
The cottage sleeps eight in four bedrooms. There are three bathrooms. It's a 5 Star property, which means it's well-equipped and comfortable. It has its own hot tub and sauna in the garden, which people seem to like. The stairs are a standard staircase.
There's a pub that does food about a mile away. The village has a bakery, a farm shop, and a butcher. Swardeston Common is nice for a walk, and you can sometimes watch cricket there. The village is also where Edith Cavell was born, which is marked at St Mary's church.
Norwich is a twenty-minute drive. It's a proper city with a cathedral, shops, and the Norfolk Museums sites. For the coast, Winterton-on-Sea is about forty minutes. It's a good sandy beach with dunes. The Norfolk Broads are about half an hour away; Wroxham is the main spot for boat hire.
For a day out with kids, Pensthorpe is a good nature park, about half an hour north. Thetford Forest, to the south, has walking and cycling trails.
Facilities: there's parking, a washing machine, a dishwasher, and wifi. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome. The garden is enclosed.
