Edderton Hall Country House
Edderton Hall is a big country house near Fron in Powys. It sleeps up to 25 people. There are 12 bedrooms and 11 bathrooms, which is useful for a large group.
It's a five-star property, which means it's well-equipped and finished to a high standard. It's detached, with its own garden and plenty of parking. It's not overlooked.
The house is set up for groups. There are two living rooms, one with a games room and bar area, and another that leads to a formal dining room. There's also a separate playroom for children. The kitchen is large and open plan with another dining table. Everything you'd expect is there: dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, WiFi. Bedding and towels are included.
A ground floor bedroom has level access, which could be suitable for someone with limited mobility. The fireplace in the main living room is a wood burner.
You can bring up to four dogs. Please don't charge electric vehicles at the house. There are public charging points a couple of miles away at Tesco and in the main car park in Welshpool.
The location is rural. The views from the house are across the Severn Valley towards Powis Castle. It's very quiet.
Welshpool and Oswestry are the nearest proper market towns, about a 15-20 minute drive. Shrewsbury is about half an hour away. Chester is further, about an hour and a half.
For walks, you've got Offa's Dyke and the Glyndwr's Way paths close by. The Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is within a 30 minute drive. Llanymynech Rocks nature reserve is also nearby.
If you're looking for a day out, the National Trust's Powis Castle and Gardens is very close. National Trust Powis Castle. Chirk Castle and Attingham Park are also within a reasonable drive.
