The Windowky is in Gardenstown, right on the harbour. It's a one-up one-down cottage, so just the one bedroom and bathroom. It sleeps two.
It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and clean. The main thing is the view. You've got a private bit of garden out the front with seating, right on the sea. You can sit with a drink and watch the boats.
The village is built on a steep hill, so there are a lot of steps everywhere. There are also a few shallow steps up to the cottage itself. Something to bear in mind if you have trouble getting about. You park in the public car park at the end of the walkway, which is just outside.
Inside, it's open plan downstairs: kitchen, living area, dining bit. There's a wood burner for cooler nights. Upstairs is the bedroom with a double bed and a view of the bay, and the bathroom with a shower over the bath.
The beach is practically on the doorstep, about twenty yards. The pub and a restaurant are a five minute walk, maybe 350 yards.
If you want to explore, you're on the North East Scottish coast. Fraserburgh is about fifteen miles for shops. Banff and Macduff are closer, maybe a twenty minute drive. For a big day out, the Fyvie Castle estate is about half an hour inland.
Facilities: there's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and bedding and towels are included. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
