It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It’s a 4 Star place, so it’s well-equipped and comfortable. The living room has windows on two sides so you can see the water easily. The kitchen is fine. You’ve got a dishwasher, washing machine, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included.
The cottage looks down at Mill Shore, which is a shingle beach with some sand when the tide’s out. You’ll see seals in the bay quite often. If you’re lucky, you might spot dolphins or whales further out. Troup Head, which is the gannet colony on the mainland, is just round the corner. You can see it from the cottage.
The local pub is about a quarter of a mile away. The nearest shop and a restaurant are in Gardenstown, about four miles. Pennan village itself is famous for the red phone box from the film. It’s a nice place, just very small. The road down to it is steep and winding, like most roads here.
For walks, you’ve got the cliff paths straight from the door. Cullykhan Beach is nearby, but getting down to it is steep. If you drive, you can visit other villages like Crovie and Gardenstown. They’re all along this bit of coast.
Facilities list: parking on site, enclosed garden, BBQ, bike storage, a cot if needed. No pets.
