Pennan Lodge

Pennan Lodge is on our farm, just outside the village of Pennan. It's one of two cottages up here, semi-detached. You're high up on the headland, so the views out to sea are very good. You can see right across the bay to the village itself.

It's for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well-equipped. Everything's on the ground floor, which is handy. There's a walk-in shower.

The living room has big windows to make the most of the view. There's a patio with a table and chairs, it's enclosed, and there's a barbecue. You're welcome to use the bike storage and there's a games room in the farm steading too. Parking is right outside.

You'll see we're a working farm. Sometimes there are sheep in the fields nearby. The coast path is right there if you want to walk. Pennan is about a ten-minute walk down the hill. You'll know the red phone box from the film. The pub there is a quarter of a mile away.

The wildlife is the main thing here. You'll almost always see seals in the bay below the cottage. Further out, we often spot dolphins and sometimes whales. Just along the coast is Troup Head, which is an RSPB reserve with a big gannet colony. You can see it from the cottage.

For a shop or a restaurant, you'd need to drive to Fraserburgh or Macduff, both about four miles. The coast road is very scenic but it is winding. Gardenstown and Crovie are other fishing villages along the cliff, worth a visit.

Facilities: Washing machine, TV, WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. We have a cot if needed. No pets, sorry.
