Merlin Cottage is a lovely 200 year old two-bedroom cottage converted from an old farm building that sleeps five located right in the heart of the Scottish Highlands, in the northern part of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs. With the famous Ben More and Stob Binnien sitting across the road from the cottage, Glen Lochy to the front and Glen Coe with all the stunning mountain range there is just an hour’s drive away. The cottage is surrounded by some of the most beautiful views and countryside in Scotland, you will be living the dream and searching for your kilt!
Merlin Cottage is one of a small handful of cottages clustered around an open courtyard with uninterrupted views of hills, glens and lochs. There is a path at the end of the courtyard that leads over the fields and another to Crianlarich, a beautiful historical village. Crianlarich can be reached in 5 minutes by car and the bustling town of Oban in just over one hour.
This upside-down cottage has two bedrooms downstairs as you enter the property, one with a lovely comfy kingsize bed and the second room is a family room with a double and a single bed, accommodating three people easily. The luxury downstairs bathroom has a bath with an overhead shower, and underfloor heating is available on the downstairs hall and bathroom.
Upstairs you will find a warm and cosy living room with Smart TV, offering your favourite channels and an electric wood burner, along with a dining area in the corner. The kitchen is integrated and fully equipped, with every essential you could need during your stay, along with a cute little breakfast table and stools. Enjoy the views even more from upstairs. There is a lovely garden to the rear of the cottage the faces the main road with Ben More dominating the view and there is also a seating area at the front of the property to enjoy the wide-open views of the Glens and rivers.
The lovely town of Killin is just 18 minute drive away where you can explore more of the countryside, cafes and shops. This is a great place to get away and relax and enjoy the scenery. Bring a couple of canvases and paint!
