The area was an essential part of any Victorian’s visit to Scotland, inspiring many famous writers and artist of the past. You can follow in the footsteps of the Glasgow Boys, who regularly visited Brig o’ Turk. Only 5 minutes’ drive, Loch Katrine has bike hire and a trail to follow around the loch side or why not enjoy a steam ship cruise on the loch?
The nearby Victorian tourist town of Callander, which has lots of places to eat, bars, cafés, galleries and tourist shops, hosts regular events, including the Highland games and a music festival.
