Oddwell Cottage is in Brompton Ralph, Somerset. It's off a one lane track, attached to my place next door. I'm here if you need anything.
The cottage sleeps six. It sounds a lot but that's because there are two double beds and then two single beds tucked away upstairs. So it's two bedrooms, but it spreads out. The bathroom is downstairs.
It's an old place. Grade II listed, built over 300 years ago. So it's full of character, which means low oak beams and uneven floors. The main room has a big inglenook fireplace you can sit inside, with the original bread oven still there. It's got a wood burning stove.
Outside, there's a garden patio area with a table. It's quiet. You look out over fields and the Brendon Hills. The Quantock Hills are close by to the east.
It's remote. The nearest shop and pub are in Wiveliscombe, about four miles away. It's a nice drive. For the coast, Blue Anchor Bay is about nine miles. Minehead and Dunster are a short drive further on. Dunster has a castle and a medieval village. Fishing is at Clatworthy Reservoir, three miles up the road.
It's got a 4 Star rating. The facilities are all there: wifi, TV, dishwasher, washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if needed. You can bring up to three dogs. Parking is right outside.
