Oddwell Cottage

Oddwell Cottage is in Brompton Ralph. It's a tiny village up in the hills. The house is very old, about 400 years or so. It's attached to the caretaker's place, but you've got your own front door and garden.

It sleeps six but has two bedrooms. One's a double, the other has bunk beds and a double bed. So it's a tight fit for six adults, but it works fine for a family. It's got a 4 Star rating, which is good.

The stairs are the main thing. They're spiral, open, and quite steep. You have to be careful on them. It's just the way the old house is built. The floorboards upstairs creak a bit too.

The living room is large. There's a big fireplace you can sit inside, with an old bread oven still in the wall. Lots of oak beams. It's got a woodburning stove. There's a TV, WiFi, and a washing machine.

It's very quiet here. You look out over fields. You can bring two dogs. The garden is yours to use.

The local shop and pub are about four miles away in the next village. You'll need a car.

For things to do, Exmoor is right on the doorstep. Minehead and Dunster are maybe fifteen minutes by car. The beach at Blue Anchor Bay is about nine miles. If you fish, Clatworthy Reservoir is three miles away. The Quantock Hills are to the east. You're well placed for walking.
