The West Barn
The West Barn is on the Lechmere Estate in Hanley Castle. It's a barn conversion that's part of a private estate with a vineyard and a big old house. The estate goes back hundreds of years.
It sleeps six people. Three bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, which is handy. The rating is 4 Star, so it's comfortable and well looked after. The conversion is open plan downstairs.
You're right at the bottom of the Malvern Hills. It's an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. You can walk straight out onto the hills. The nearest pub is about half a mile away. For a shop or a restaurant, you'd drive into Upton-upon-Severn, which is about a mile and a half.
Upton is a nice little town on the River Severn. Good for a wander, few pubs. Malvern is about a 15 minute drive. The hills are the main thing, really. Great for walking. The Three Choirs vineyard is nearby if you like that sort of thing.
Within half an hour you can get to Worcester, with the cathedral, or Hereford. Goodrich Castle is a good day out. The National Trust's Croome is about 20 minutes away.
Facilities: there's a washing machine, dishwasher, TV, WiFi. Enclosed garden with a BBQ. Parking on site. You can bring one dog. They've got a cot, highchair, and stairgate if you need them. Bedding and towels are included.
The owners live on the estate and can arrange things like welcome packs with local food, or even catered meals, if you book it in advance.
