Stildon Manor Cottage is in Menithwood, which is a small hamlet in Worcestershire. It's detached and used to be part of the farm buildings here. You're in the grounds of the main manor house but you have your own private space.
It sleeps five in three bedrooms. There's one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well-equipped. The layout is all on the ground floor, so no stairs to worry about.
One of the big things here is the space. You get a proper games room with a pool table, which is good if the weather turns. There's a large, enclosed courtyard garden that gets the sun. You can sit out there and look at the views towards the Abberley Hills.
The owners have a working farm next door, and you're welcome to walk on the footpaths through their land. For wider walks, the area is criss-crossed with public footpaths. The Wyre Forest is about a 20-minute drive. It's good for bikes as well.
You're well placed for days out. Witley Court is nearby, which is a spectacular ruin with big fountains. The Severn Valley Railway is a classic steam train experience, and the West Midland Safari Park is about half an hour away. Ludlow, with its castle and good food shops, is also within a 30-minute drive.
Facilities are straightforward: there's a woodburning stove for winter evenings, a washing machine, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. You can bring one well-behaved dog.
