The Farmhouse At Gradbach is in Flash, which is the highest village in Britain. It's a big, old stone farmhouse. It sits next to a river, the Dane, and is part of an old 18th century silk mill site. The setting is quiet, with fields all around.
It sleeps 16 people. There are seven bedrooms, and each one has its own bathroom. It's a 5 Star property, which means it's finished to a high standard and is well-equipped. The kitchen is large, with a range cooker. The lounge has oak beams.
Outside, there's a private hot tub and a garden. You have on-site parking. Inside, there's also a games room. Everything is on one level, so no stairs to worry about.
The location is good for walks straight from the door. You're in the Peak District National Park. The Roaches, which is a famous climbing spot, is practically on the doorstep. Lud's Church, a deep mossy chasm, is a short walk away. It's associated with some old legends.
Within about half an hour's drive, you can get to Buxton. It's a spa town with shops and an opera house. Bakewell, Tideswell and Hartington are also about 30 minutes away. Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are around 40 minutes. Alton Towers is roughly 30 minutes by car.
Facilities include a washing machine, dishwasher, and a woodburning stove. Bedding and towels are provided. There's a cot and highchair if needed. No pets allowed.
