Holly Cottage is in Langley. It's a village in Cheshire, right on the edge of the Peak District.
It's an old mill worker's cottage. It sleeps three, two bedrooms and one bathroom. It's a 4 Star rating. We're happy with that. It's clean and comfortable rather than new.
Downstairs is cosy. You've got the living room and a small kitchen. Upstairs, one bedroom has a double bed, the other is a single. The bathroom is up there too.
The main thing is the outside space. There's a garden that goes down to a stream. And there's a roof balcony you get to from the double bedroom. It looks out over the fields and hills. It's a good spot in the evening.
The stairs are steep. It's that kind of cottage.
You're right at the bottom of Teggs Nose hill. You can walk straight out into Macclesfield Forest or the Teggs Nose Country Park. For a proper hike, Shutlingsloe is a good climb from the village. They call it the Cheshire Matterhorn.
There's a pub that serves food less than a hundred yards away. A few more within walking distance. A shop is about a mile off.
Macclesfield is two and a half miles for supermarkets and more places to eat. Buxton and Leek are about a half hour drive if you fancy a change. The Peak District National Park is right there.
Facilities: WiFi, TV, washing machine, bedding and towels are included. You can bring one dog.
