Pepper Pot Cottage Compton

Pepper Pot Cottage is in Compton, West Sussex. It’s part of a Grade II listed building, the middle section of three. You’re down a quiet lane at the end of a village.

It sleeps six. Three bedrooms and one bathroom. One twin bedroom is downstairs. Upstairs there’s a king-size room and another twin. There’s also a separate downstairs toilet. The rating is 3 Star, so it’s comfortable and clean but not high-end.

The living room has an open fire. The kitchen has what you need. The garden faces south, so it gets the sun. There’s a patio with a table and a barbecue. The garden is enclosed. You get one parking space.

The stairs are the original cottage stairs, so they’re a bit steep and turn a corner.

There’s a shop and tea room about 70 yards away. The pub is the same distance. They both serve food. There’s a community tennis court and a recreation ground in the village if you need to run kids around.

You’re in the South Downs National Park. A bridle path runs right next to the cottage, so you can start walking or cycling straight from the door.

Goodwood for the races is about a 20 minute drive. Chichester, with the cathedral and shops, is about 15 minutes. The beaches at The Witterings or Hayling Island are roughly half an hour. Portsmouth, for the historic dockyard or shopping at Gunwharf, is about 40 minutes.

For days out, Petworth House and Uppark are National Trust properties nearby. The South Downs Way is on your doorstep for walking. Jane Austen’s House at Chawton is about 45 minutes drive.

Facilities include a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot, highchair, and stairgate. We accept up to two well-behaved dogs.
