The Misty Isles View

The Misty Isles View is in Portree, right at the top of the town. That's why the view is so good from the front windows. You can look right over the harbour and the bay to the Cuillin mountains. You're just a few minutes walk down the hill to the shops and pubs.

It sleeps four, in two bedrooms. There's one bathroom with a shower. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well-equipped.

You come in through a small porch. That's where the washing machine and tumble dryer are, which is handy if you've been out in the weather. The kitchen has what you need. I leave some tea and coffee for when you arrive.

The stairs are a bit steep and narrow, just so you know. There's a decent sized garden out the back, with a shed you can put bikes in.

Portree's a good spot to see the whole island. The Old Man of Storr is about a ten minute drive north. Sligachan is about ten minutes south. You can get to most places on Skye within an hour from here. Dunvegan Castle, the Talisker distillery, Neist Point lighthouse, they're all doable for a day out.

For facilities, you've got the WiFi, TV, dishwasher, and the washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking for one car on the drive. No pets, sorry.

If you're planning trips, the Isle of Skye website has a lot of information, and the National Trust for Scotland looks after some sites nearby on the mainland.
