Fleet Cottage

Fleet Cottage is in Portree, on the Isle of Skye. It's a detached crofter's cottage, right on the shore of Loch Portree. You can see the water from the windows.

It sleeps four. There are two bedrooms and two bathrooms, which is handy. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's old, built around 1850, but it's been done up well. The living room and kitchen are upstairs to get the view. That means you go upstairs for a cup of tea.

The garden is terraced and has seating. You get to it down a steep path from the house, so watch your step. It's very close to the water.

It's peaceful but also just a five minute walk into the centre of Portree. There are shops and pubs there. You don't really need the car if you don't want to.

Facilities: it's got a woodburning stove, a dishwasher, washing machine, wifi, TV, and parking. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring one dog.

For things to do, you're right on Skye. The Cuillin mountains are there. You can drive to the Armadale Castle gardens or go to Glencoe on the mainland, both within about an hour. The Skye website has good information.
