The Cottage

The Cottage is in Gedintailor, up in the north west of Skye. It's a single-storey, detached cottage from the 1700s. It's on our family croft, so the views out the front are over the fields and the sea. You'll see sheep.

It sleeps two, just the one bedroom and a shower room. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's comfortable and clean. The main thing is it's all on one level. No stairs at all.

The kitchen has what you need. The living room has a multi-fuel stove. That heats the whole place nicely, which is good because it can get windy. There's a washing machine, a TV, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. We can put a cot or highchair in if you need it. Parking is right outside.

You're a good ten-minute drive from Portree. That's where the main shops are, restaurants, a swimming pool, and boat trips leave from the harbour. The nearest pub or restaurant is about six miles away, so you'll want a car.

For things to do, you're well placed. The Fairy Glen is on the road to Uig. The Old Man of Storr and the Quiraing are up that way too, part of the north loop drive. Dunvegan Castle and Coral Beach are west. Neist Point lighthouse is further north west.

If you're a walker, the Cuillin hills are there. The Fairy Pools are at their foot. You can drive down to them. The beach at Claigan, which is sandy, is about a mile and a half away. You can walk from the cottage along the coast towards there.

Useful links if you're planning: Isle of Skye and National Trust for Scotland Glencoe. The Trust cares for a lot of the land around here.

No pets, sorry.
