The Warren is a detached cottage we built a few years ago as part of a small group. It's in Baston, Lincolnshire. It's very quiet here, next to the River Glen.
It sleeps six, in three bedrooms. Each bedroom has its own bathroom. The main living area is all open plan. There's a patio right by the river, which is fenced in, so it's safe. You look out across fields where we keep some horses and llamas.
It's a five-star place, which basically means it's new and everything works. It's got underfloor heating. The entrance is level, so it's okay for wheelchairs. There's a parking space and an electric car charger. If you bring dogs, there's a big, separate field just for them to run about in.
The village shop is two minutes away by car. There's a local pub in Baston that does food. For a bigger shop, Market Deeping is about ten minutes' drive.
Stamford is about twenty minutes away. It's a nice old town. Burghley House is there. Peterborough is maybe half an hour, if you need the train station or a big shopping centre.
A lot of people come here to walk or cycle. You can just step out the door. The area is flat, so it's good for that. There are some nice country pubs you can walk to if you don't mind a longer stroll.
The River Glen is very gentle, good for a bit of fishing if that's your thing. You have use of a tennis court on the grounds, but you need to book a slot.
