Converted Stable No 2 is on our farm in Great Sampford. It's one of a pair, converted from an old stable a few years ago. We live next door in the farmhouse.
It's for two people. Everything's on one level, open plan. There's a kitchen area, a table, and the bed. Through a door is the bathroom with a big shower. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well fitted.
Outside is a private patio with a table and chairs. It looks out over the fields. It's very quiet here. You can walk for miles straight from the door. The driveway is gravel, and there's parking right outside.
There's a local pub in the village, about a ten minute walk. It's friendly. Finchingfield is a few miles away, it's a nice village with a duck pond and a few shops. Saffron Walden and Thaxted are the old market towns nearby. Thaxted has a good church and does a Morris dancing festival.
Cambridge is about half an hour's drive. You can see the colleges and go punting. Newmarket, for the racecourse, is about 40 minutes. If you like walking, the Essex County Council countryside site has maps. For history, English Heritage at Audley End is close by.
Facilities: there's a TV, WiFi, and all the bedding and towels are included. There's a farm shop on site as well. Sorry, no pets.
