Lake House Cottage
Lake House Cottage is in Finchingfield, just by our place. It's a thatched, semi-detached cottage. It sleeps two, so it's a one bedroom place. It's got a 3 Star rating, which basically means it's clean and comfortable but not luxurious.
The main thing is the space. It sits on our land, so you've got a couple of acres to look out over. There's a small lake. You'll see ducks, and our horses are in the next field. The cottage garden is private.
Finchingfield village is about a mile away. It's got the green, the duck pond, a couple of pubs that do food, and a shop. It's a nice walk. We're in rural Essex, so it's quiet.
If you want to go further, Saffron Walden is about a 20 minute drive. It's got the Audley End House estate, which is English Heritage. Colchester is maybe half an hour, for the castle and Roman stuff. The Essex coast, like Mersea Island, is about 45 minutes.
Inside, it's all open plan downstairs. The stairs are cottage stairs, so they're a bit steep. You've got WiFi and a TV. Bedding and towels are provided. There's parking right outside.
