Silver Birch

Silver Birch is a lodge near Toppesfield in Essex. We built it new in 2022, so everything is modern and works properly. It's on our land, Toppesfield Hall, which is about six acres. There are a few other holiday homes around the site and we live in the main hall next door.

It sleeps four but it's all open plan, so it's one big room with a sleeping area, living space and kitchen. There's one bathroom. The rating is 5 Star, which means it's well-equipped. It's very private though, with its own garden.

Outside there's a hot tub, a gas BBQ, a firepit and seating. It gets the sun in the morning, which is nice. You can use the on-site tennis court, hire bikes, or use the playing field. Dogs are welcome, one per booking. The field is good for letting them run.

The village has a pub you can walk to, and a small shop. For bigger shops, Great Yeldham or Sible Hedingham are about ten minutes by car. Finchingfield, which has that famous village green and a few pubs, is about twelve minutes away.

If you want to do things, Castle Hedingham is close. The Colne Valley Railway is nearby for a steam train trip. For a day out, Cambridge is under an hour. Braintree Freeport, for shopping, is about half an hour. The Essex coast, like Mersea Island, is roughly an hour's drive.

Facilities included: all bedding and towels, WiFi, a cot and highchair if you need them, parking right by the lodge, and an electric vehicle charger. There's a washing machine in the kitchen. The property is all on one level.
