English Oak
This is English Oak. It's one of those single-storey lodges, a proper little place for two. It's tucked back in our woodland on the edge of Toppesfield. Very private.
It's got its own garden, all fenced in, so it's good if you're bringing dogs. There's a hot tub on the deck, and a covered bit outside with a pizza oven and a barbeque.
Inside, it's all one room really, but they've sectioned the bed area off. There's a big TV that projects onto the wall at the foot of the bed, which is a bit different. The doors open right out onto the deck so it feels very open when you want it to.
The village is about an eight-minute walk. There's a pub there that does food and they're fine with dogs. There's a shop for the basics.
You're right on the edge of the countryside here, so you can walk straight out from the lodge into the fields. For other things to do, Hatfield Forest is about half an hour's drive. So is the Audley End House estate. If you fancy the coast, Mersea Island is just under an hour.
On the site here, there's a shared games room and a tennis court you can use. There's parking close by. Just to note, there's a working farm next door in the courtyard, so you might hear the usual farm noises now and then.
It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well kitted out. Everything's included: bedding, towels, WiFi. There's an electric vehicle charger too.
