Toppesfield Hall
This is Toppesfield Hall. It's in a village called Toppesfield, which is in north Essex near the Suffolk border. The cottage was done up in 2021, so everything is new.
It sleeps five. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. The rating is five star, so the standard is very high. The bedrooms have views over the fields.
The cottage sits within about six acres. I live on site, in the main hall next door. There are a few other holiday homes around the grounds, but each place is separate. You'd have your own garden and patio area. There's an electric car charger and a games room on the estate.
The village is just across a field. There's a pub, a shop that's also a post office, a brewery and a vineyard. It's about a two minute walk.
The cottage has all the facilities you'd expect. Washing machine, dishwasher, TV, WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot, highchair and stairgate. It takes two dogs. And yes, it's got a private hot tub.
For things to do, you're well placed. You're in what's called Constable Country. For walking, the Dedham Vale is close. Lavenham is worth a trip for the timber-framed buildings. The coast, like Mersea Island or Walton-on-the-Naze, is under an hour's drive. Colchester Zoo is about half an hour away.
If you wanted a day in London, you can get a train from Braintree and be there in an hour.
