Ivy Todd Barn is in Water End, Essex. It's a converted barn on a livery yard, so you'll see horses in the fields. The views are countryside. There's a small courtyard at the back.
It sleeps up to six, but you have to be okay with how the beds are arranged. Three bedrooms. One double is downstairs and has an en-suite shower. Upstairs, there's a twin room that can be a super king, also with an en-suite. Then, above the kitchen, there's a galleried level with a day bed and a trundle bed underneath it. It's more of an extra sleeping space up there, really. There's a third shower room downstairs off the dining area.
The ceilings are high with exposed beams. It feels light. The main living area is open plan on the ground floor. Because of the layout with bedrooms on two floors and multiple shower rooms, it can work for groups where someone needs less mobility, or for friends sharing.
The nearest pub is about a mile away. The shop is in Saffron Walden, which is five miles. It's a market town, older buildings, that sort of thing. For a day out, Audley End House and Gardens is nearby. You can walk around the house and the grounds.
It's a 4 Star place. That means it's well-equipped and kept to a good standard. There's a woodburning stove, dishwasher, washing machine, Wi-Fi, and parking. The whole garden and courtyard are enclosed. Bedding and towels are included. No pets.
For local information, the Visit Essex site is useful. Cambridge is about a 30 minute drive if you want to see that.
