The Hayloft
The Hayloft is a barn we converted in 2020. It's on the edge of our arable farm in Ashdon. The views are over countryside.
It sleeps ten people. There are five bedrooms and each has its own bathroom. It's got a 5 Star rating. That means it's well-equipped and everything is new.
It's all open plan downstairs. There's underfloor heating and a bluetooth sound system with speakers in each room. The stairs are open-tread, which some people find a bit steep.
The garden is large and enclosed. There's a patio, a lawn, and a hot tub.
You can walk to two pubs from here, both do food. The shop is in the village, about four miles away. There's fishing on the farm, about a ten-minute walk from the cottage.
Saffron Walden is the nearest proper town. It's a medieval market town. Audley End House and Gardens is close by if you're interested in history. Cambridge is about a 35-minute drive if you fancy a day out punting or seeing the colleges.
For facilities: there's parking, a washing machine, a dishwasher, a BBQ, and bike storage. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. No pets, I'm afraid.
