Osprey Cottage

Osprey Cottage is one of ours, up at the loch near Cambusbarron. It's a single-storey bungalow, so everything's on the ground floor. Good if stairs are a problem. It's just for two people.

The big thing is the view. The cottage looks straight out over our loch, which is about 120 acres. You'll see the ospreys fishing most days in season, which is why we called it that. The cliffs on the far side are about 300 feet high. It's very quiet.

Inside, it's done to a high standard. It's got a 4 Star rating. We provide bed linen, towels, bathrobes, and slippers. There's a welcome pack with some basics and a bottle of fizz for when you arrive. You'll find a dishwasher and a washing machine.

Outside, you've got your own patio area. Parking is right next to the cottage. We live on site, so we're here if you need anything, but we'll leave you alone otherwise. There's an honesty room with books, DVDs, and games you can borrow.

For a walk, you can start right from the cottage. The path goes along the cliff top above the loch. It's one of the best views in central Scotland.

Stirling is about four miles away. You've got the castle, the Wallace Monument, shops, and plenty of places to eat. It's a university town so it's busy all year. The motorway junction is five miles away, so Edinburgh, Glasgow, or Perth are easy for a day trip. Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park is about 20 miles west.

There are several golf courses nearby. Gleneagles is roughly 35 minutes by car.
