Peregrine Cottage

Peregrine Cottage is at Osprey Hideaways in Auchenbowie, near Stirling. It's one of a few cottages here. The owners live on site.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, which is accurate. It's comfortable and well done out. The beds are good and there are robes and slippers provided. There's a welcome pack when you arrive too.

The main thing is the view. It looks out over the owners' loch, which is 120 acres. There are ospreys that fish there in season. The cliffs on the far side are about 300 feet high. It's a very quiet spot.

Stirling is about four miles away. You can get to the motorway quickly from here, so Edinburgh, Glasgow or Perth are all easy for a day trip. The Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park is about 20 miles to the west.

There are walks right from the cottage, including a cliff-top path. If you want golf, there are local courses and Gleneagles is roughly 35 minutes drive. For fishing, you can get a permit for the loch.

In Stirling, there's the castle and the Wallace Monument. The Historic Environment Scotland site has details for those. It's a proper town with shops, restaurants, and a cinema.

Facilities: it has parking, wifi, a washing machine, dishwasher, TV, and bike storage. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. Bedding and towels are included. Christmas decorations go up if you're staying over the holidays. No pets.
