Kestrel Cottage is part of a group called Osprey Hideaways in Cambusbarron. It's for two people, one bedroom and one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating.
You're looking right out over a big private loch, and ospreys do fish there in season. The view is across the water to these high cliffs on the other side. It's quiet.
The place is done up nicely. The owners leave you a welcome pack with some fizz, and the towels and bedding are good quality. They live on site if you need anything. There's a shared honesty room with books and DVDs you can borrow.
Stirling is about four miles away. It's a good city for a day out. The castle is worth seeing, and the Wallace Monument. You're close to the motorway here, so Edinburgh, Glasgow or Perth are all about an hour's drive if you fancy it.
For walking, you can start a cliff-top path right from the cottages. Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park is about twenty miles to the west. Plenty of golf courses around, including Gleneagles which is roughly thirty-five minutes away.
Inside, you've got a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi and TV. There's parking. They can provide a cot and highchair if needed. No pets.
A couple of links if you're planning: Stirling Council for local info, and National Trust for Scotland for places like nearby Ben Lomond.
