Hazel Cottage is in Peterlee, County Durham. It's one of three cottages on the same site. The place is all on one level, so it's good if stairs are a problem, and it has a wet room. It's a bungalow.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's clean and well kept.
You've got French doors that open onto your own fenced patio. The view is over fields. The grounds are big, about 18 acres, so there's space. There's parking right there.
Inside, it's open plan. Living room and kitchen together. It has underfloor heating, a washing machine, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and a highchair if you need them. No pets, sorry.
There's a local pub about a mile away that does food. The closest shop is two miles.
For walking, there are public footpaths leading straight from the grounds. You can walk to the Durham Heritage Coast if you're up for it, it's about eight miles. By car, it's under 15 minutes to beaches like Seaham or Crimdon.
Durham city is about ten miles away. The castle and cathedral are the main draw there, it's a World Heritage Site. It's got restaurants and a theatre. If you're visiting the university, it's a handy base.
Within half an hour you can get to the Angel of the North, or to Beamish Museum, which is a good day out. Newcastle and the Metro Centre are about 45 minutes by car.
