The Hawthorns is in Seaham. It's a detached house. It's on a quiet residential street, but you're only a few minutes' walk from the North Beach and the harbour. You can see a sliver of sea from the upstairs terrace.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms and one bathroom upstairs. It's got a 4 Star rating. That means it's well-equipped and in good order. The kitchen is open plan, off the living room. There's a separate games room with a pool table and a dartboard.
Outside, there's a small courtyard at the back, useful if you bring a dog. The terrace is off one of the bedrooms upstairs. It has garden furniture.
Seaham's main beach is sandy, with rock pools. People look for sea glass there. The Tommy statue on the promenade is the one everyone photographs. The town has the usual shops, cafes, and fish and chip places. Seaham Hall is nearby if you want a spa treatment or a meal.
For days out, you're right on the coast path. Durham is about a 20-minute drive. Newcastle is about half an hour north. If you head south, you can get into the North York Moors in under an hour. The National Trust has sites nearby, like Souter Lighthouse.
Facilities: Wi-Fi, TV, washing machine, bedding and towels are included. It says two pets are welcome. There's parking for one car on the drive.
