Kestral Cottage

This is Kestrel Cottage. It's in Peterlee, in County Durham. It's one of three cottages here on the same site.

It sleeps four people. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. Everything's on the ground floor, which is good if you have trouble with stairs. There's a wet room shower. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's clean and comfortable, more functional than luxurious.

The cottage is open plan. There's a living and kitchen area with French doors that open out to your own fenced patio. You get a decent view over fields from there. It's quiet.

There's a pub and a restaurant about a mile away. A shop is two miles. The coast is about a 15-minute drive. Seaham beach is a good spot. You can walk to the coast in a couple of hours if you're keen.

Durham city is a 10-mile drive. The castle and cathedral are a UNESCO site, well worth a visit. The city has restaurants and a theatre. If you're here for university events, it's a convenient base.

Beamish Museum is about half an hour away by car. It's a living history museum, good for a day out. The Angel of the North is also roughly 30 minutes away. Newcastle is about 45 minutes if you fancy a trip into the city.

On site, there's parking. You get a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair if you need them. The garden is enclosed. No pets, I'm afraid.
